THEORY OF CHANGE
If a resource center is established inside the union parishad as a youth platform and if it is used to continue the awareness events on PVE even out of the grant period, then the targeted youth will be able to resist potential PVE threats, because under the guidance of the local Government, the institutionalized resource center will act as the continuous source of vital information and knowledge on PVE for the youth.
ACTIVITY SUMMARY
This activity seeks to engage local government and youth to create awareness on peace, tolerance and PVE through resource center activities at 03 No Khankhanabad Union Parishad under Chattogram district. The resource center is established inside the Union Parishad (UP) as a youth platform and it is used to continue the awareness-based activities. USAID’s Obirodh: Road to Tolerance project provided a Fixed Amount Award (FAA) to Songshoptaque to establish a resource center, identifing 50 youths, organized two orientation meeting with youth and one orientation meeting with local government and issue-based activity in this area with the help of local government. The provision of this assistance contributed to engage local govt. and enhance PVE knowledge among youth through resource center activities to promote peace and tolerance.
This idea addressed the driver “Decreased Space for Political Participation, Limited or no opportunity to participate in or influence the political process. “The approach is “Primary-Communication & networking, secondary- people to people programming.” and the Target Group is “Youth (Underemployed)”.
